Official: Russian govt preparing order to sell 19.5% in Rosneft
MOSCOW, Oct 27 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is preparing an order for state oil and gas holding Rosneftegaz to sell a 19.5% interest in oil major Rosneft, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov told reporters on Thursday.
“The government is preparing an order for Rosneftegaz to sell 19.5% of the shares of Rosneft. Preparations for the sale with participation of a financial consultant are proceeding actively. In accordance with the plan, the shares will be sold to real investors,” Shuvalov said.
He said that a buyback of the stake by Rosneft is not ruled out but is seen as a temporary measure in case no investors are found because the state budget expects to receive the money in 2016. “In this case the sale of these shares to investors, buyers, will be made by Rosneft itself.”
